Greg
“The idea for a Christian radio talk show originally began back in 2001,” says Greg , co-founder of Last Words Ministry. “Unfortunately, the team had a lot of enthusiasm but not a lot of direction. My original desire was to serve the Lord by creating a talk show format where the Los Angeles Christian community would receive ‘encouragement.’ But this plan was vague and didn’t seem to offer much to other believers. So we decided to shut it down and see if the program could be restructured at a later time.”
Well, six years later Greg felt the calling once again. After studying the scriptures and reading many books by evangelist Ray Comfort, Greg decided to try the talk show format once again—this time focusing on getting out an important message. “I realized I had spent most of my life not sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. While I was a Christian, I was really living for no one but myself and not doing anything to promote the message of repentance, faith, and trust in the God who personally imparted that same message to me so many years ago. I felt an urgency and a calling to obey the Great Commission like never before, and after some time went by, I realized that this is a message that needs to go out to as many people as possible. I spent a lot of time in prayer and the Lord just opened the doors to start the ministry once again…but this time, we had plenty of direction. Not only is it imperative that the gospel message be preached to those who are lost, but it is equally important to get other believers to get up, get out, and share their faith.”
So, Last Words Ministry was recreated and the first radio show began in Los Angeles on October 20, 2007 on AM1580. Greg is surrounded by a great team of enthusiastic Christians who feel the same burden as he does—to share Christ to non-believers and to train people to share the full gospel of Jesus. “I’m looking forward to what the Lord is going to do with this ministry, and I am especially excited to see many people coming to a real and saving faith in our Lord.”
By trade Greg is a high school English teacher and has been married to Kristie, “a very patient lady,” for thirteen years. They have three boys ages 6 5, and 12 weeks. |
